Who we are

Model My Thing is a small CAD-modeling and 3D-printing service. This policy explains what information we collect through this site, how we use it, and the choices you have. You can reach us through the question form.

What information we collect

We collect personal information only when you submit the intake form. You fill it out over several steps, but everything is sent together at the end — nothing is sent to us until you submit. When you submit the form, we collect:

• Contact details you provide — your name, and either an email address or a number we can text (at least one of the two, so we have a way to reply), plus the other one and a company name if you give them.
• Where something would ship — optional, and only worth filling in if you are expecting a physical item from us: a country and a postal code, so we can estimate shipping. We do not ask for a street address on this site.
• Free text you type — a project description (required) and, if you choose, technical tolerances or specifications (optional). These are open fields, so they contain whatever detail you decide to include.
• Project selections — multiple-choice answers about your project, such as starting point, quantity, timeline, and a budget range (a range, not exact figures). On their own, these do not identify you.
• Files you attach — drawings, models, or photos you upload with your request. They contain whatever you choose to send.
• A reference ID — a short random code created when you submit, so you have a way to refer to your request. It contains no personal information.

There are some things this site does not collect:

• No payment or financial account information.
• No accounts and no passwords — the site has no accounts.
• No precise location.
• No fingerprinting to track or profile you. The bot check described further down reads technical signals from your browser, including a TLS fingerprint, but only to tell a person from a script at the moment you submit — and Cloudflare states it cannot identify individuals from them.

How we use it

We use the information you submit only to review, scope, and respond to your project request, and to contact you about it.

We do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it or share it for marketing.

Messages you agree to receive

The form asks separately, for each way of reaching you, whether we may use it — and it asks only about the ones you have filled in. Agreeing is how the form knows it may use what you gave it, so a channel you have entered has to be agreed to before you can submit. If you would rather we did not text you, leave the number out and give an email instead; the same the other way around.

• Text messages — about your project and quote. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any message to stop them at any time.
• Email — about your project and quote, and occasionally about our services. If email is the way you asked to be reached, sending a request also gets you a confirmation of it, with your reference number and what you sent. Anything about our services has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing from those does not stop confirmations or replies about a request you have open.

Your consent is recorded with your request so we know what you agreed to. We never share a number or an address with anyone else for their own messaging.

Browser storage

This site uses a small amount of local browser storage to make the form work. None of it is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

• Session storage temporarily holds your name, email, phone, shipping country and postal code, project description, and tolerances while you fill out the form, so you do not lose progress. It is cleared when you submit and when your browser session ends.
• URL parameters keep your multiple-choice selections in the web address, so you can resume the form or share the link. Your contact details and free-text fields are never placed in the URL.
• Theme preference — if you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is stored locally in your browser for display only.

This site sets no cookies of its own, and the bot check above does not set one to follow you around. There is no cookie or consent banner because there is no tracking or advertising technology to consent to.

Service providers we share it with

To run the service, we rely on a few third-party providers that may receive some of the information described above:

• Resend is the email service that delivers your submitted request to our own inbox — your name, email, phone, and project description — and that sends you your confirmation of it. Email is the only place your request is recorded. See Resend's privacy policy.
• A third-party object-storage provider stores any files you upload with a request (drawings, models, photos); the notification email links to them so we can download them.
• A third-party hosting provider serves this site and, as part of that, processes standard server request data such as your IP address in access logs.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is being sent by a person rather than an automated script. When you submit, your browser runs a silent check in the background — there is nothing to click and no puzzle to solve. For that check Cloudflare receives your IP address, a TLS fingerprint, your browser's user-agent, and the site key identifying this site. It receives nothing you typed into the form. Cloudflare states these signals are used solely to detect and block bots, not to identify, profile, or target anyone. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

We do not use analytics, advertising, or social providers, and nothing here tracks you between sites. The fonts are hosted on the site itself, so your browser does not call any outside font provider; the only outside call your browser makes is the Turnstile check described above, and only when you submit a form.

How long we keep it

We keep intake records for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Some information persists beyond that in the normal course of things: submission emails stay in our inbox, and uploaded files stay with the object-storage provider, until we delete them; and server access logs are kept according to the hosting provider's defaults.

How we protect it

We take some basic steps to protect the information you submit:

• The credentials used to connect to our service providers are kept on the server only and are never exposed to your browser.
• Form submissions are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
• The form includes a hidden field that silently discards automated bot submissions. It is a spam measure and is not used to track you.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us through the question form and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, or to delete it. To make either request, send it through the question form and we will respond.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top. Continued use of the site after an update means the current version applies.
